Dustin Adams: Musician, Educator, and Piano Technician in Colorado

Dustin Adams is a versatile musician, music educator, and piano technician based in Littleton, Colorado. He regularly performs on piano, drum set, and tabla. Originally from Amarillo, TX, Dustin earned his degree in music from Amarillo College in 2004 and furthered his studies at the University of North Texas.

Dustin's deep connection with music spans many genres and instruments. A seasoned jazz pianist and drummer, he’s performed in a variety of settings, from solo gigs to ensemble performances. In addition to his work on piano and drums, Dustin has been a dedicated tabla player since 2001, with formal study under Nabin Shrestha since 2018. His passion for both Western and Indian music enriches his diverse musical repertoire.

Dustin has played in a wide variety of musical situations and roles. He has performed extensively, leading jazz trios on piano and playing with small groups and Big Bands both on piano and drums. He spent two years performing tabla three nights a week with sitarist Tom Griffin. Dustin’s extensive experience includes working with organizations and groups such as Amarillo College, Amarillo Little Theatre, West Texas A&M University, Poor Bodhi, Lamont School of Music, Makaysha Rain and Cosmic Kirtan, Minor Note Orchestra, Stephen Brooks Trio, Kali Creates Fate, Inside the Orchestra, Bhakti Shakti Kirtan, The Fakebooks, Harry Has a Head Like a Ping Pong Ball, Lady of the Lake, Patrick Swindell and Pizazz, Indian Classical Music Circle of Dallas/Ft. Worth, and many more. In 2024, he collaborated with Community College of Denver to create original music for The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa FastHorse.

Dustin has been teaching music since 2006, specializing in piano, drums, and tabla. He shares his passion and expertise through private lessons, group classes, and workshops at Swallow Hill Music Association (since 2013) and Avanti Music Academy. He has taught from his private studio in Texas (2006-2011) and Colorado (2011-present), and has worked in a variety of professional educational settings.

A fascination with the mechanics of the piano led Dustin to apprentice at Move and Tune Pianos in Denver in 2012, where he developed his expertise in tuning, repair, and regulation. As a member of the Piano Technicians Guild, he continues to expand his knowledge and skills. Dustin is a highly sought-after piano tuner and technician, working with professional musicians, music organizations, and institutions. He is dedicated to providing exceptional service to a loyal and growing clientele.
